From a vicarage to the Lytel Blue boutique hotel
1862
Construction of the presbytery, Riethoven's second presbytery, started in 1862. Did you know that the roof of the presbytery is higher than that of the church? That's actually against the rules! Why this was done differently at this presbytery is a mystery. To this day, the original account of the presbytery has been preserved. Part of it hangs in the hotel corridor.
1972
In 1972, the rectory was sold to a private individual. The property was too big and cost too much money. Part of the garden was cut off and a new rectory was built here.
2001
Since 2001, the presbytery has been a municipal monument. Inside, you will find beautiful floors, imitation paintings, unusual rafters and much more.
2019
Conversion of this beautiful property into Boutique Hotel Lytel Blue began in 2019. Special items such as statues of saints have always been kept at the rectory. But what also soon became clear; nothing is straight in this property! In the lounge is a book with photos from before and during the renovation. (Photo: Alec Brouwers)
